After watching the video clip about Black Wall Street further pushes me towards reparations. Its absolutely ridiculous that there is no accountable being held for the actions that Caucasian did to those black businesses. The incident reminded me of the movie Rosewood. The town was burned down and hundreds of African Americans were killed because a white lady lied and said that she was raped by a black man. Yet again I learned another piece of black history, because I was unaware of what took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I did not know of so many wealthy blacks in that era, and to have someone destroy what they built had to be devastating. All over jealous of what a Black man could accomplished. I agree that the push for reparation is not just about slavery, its also about hard working African Americans who lost what they owned. Not only did they lose there businesses they lost there homes and farming where they made a living for survival . And yet still no one cared. I do believe that in there mind while rebuilding, that the incident can only make them stronger. Crying over spilled milk won't fix the problem, whip your tears and keep pushing further. After the video, the readings I still don't understand how blacks or whites don't believe in reparations. They are fighting hard to get back what was unlawfully taken from them. So many African Americans have received no justice nor any satisfaction. Like I have said before no you can't get back what was taken but I believe that some type of reparations should be offered and also acknowledgement should occur.
